Rules of Submission

General Rules

  • The Competition is only for Online submission on the link provided.
  •  The Competition is open for all students who are studying in India through Direct/ Private education linked to any registered education board of India.
  • Any submission made after the set timelines will not be accepted.
  • All details entered in the registration form will need to be supported with government approved documents as and when required.  
  • The following Guidelines will need to be adhered to with respect to the content of the submission.
  • All submissions towards the contest will need to be genuine and any alteration / edit will lead to disqualification.
  • Single submission per student will be permitted only for the entire compitition(except for Photo Fable where 2 photos are allowed)
  • All submissions will need to be confirmed only after an Undertaking of it being true copy and that it is not forged.
  • All the submissions shortlisted  for the TOP 100 to go for the second round will need to be vetted by the School authority. It will need to be attested and duly stamped with details of the authorized person from the school and then submitted. Only submissions reaching with in the set time and adhering to the submission guidelines will be considered for the next round.
  • The submissions must not Represent/Support or be anything to do with Political / Religion, Caste, Gender Preferences. Neither should they be communicating anything Anti-Social or that which may hurt anyone’s sensitivities. Schools will need to ensure its adherence.

Ethics

  • Entrants must disclose the circumstances under which an image was captured as well as any instructions given to a subject.
  • The welfare of a subject and its environment must be placed ahead of the desire to capture a photograph. Upon entering the contest, entrants certify that subjects were treated with respect and dignity, and that no people, wildlife or the environment were harmed in creating a photograph.
  • If baiting was used to attract wildlife, or special equipment such as camera traps and drones used to capture the photograph, this must be disclosed. Live baiting of wildlife is not permitted. 

A : Tell a Tale:

  • The winner shall be chosen based on the best story teller & the story.
  • Create an original story or your own version based on the topic given 
  • Perform and record story on video, 5th to 7th grade 2-3 mins / 8th to 10th grade 4-7 mins
  • Upload video to YouTube or Vimeo
  • Complete the Contest Entry and Release Form
  • Submit Contest Entry and Release Form with video link

B : Photo Fable:

  • To be eligible for any category, a photograph must have been shot by the entrant since July, 2020. This date applies to all images in a composite.
  • The contestant certifies that he/she is the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted photograph.
  • Cropped photos are eligible in all categories. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor adjustments, including the removal of sensor dust or scratches on scans of negatives, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast, toning, slight color adjustment and conversion to grayscale are acceptable for all categories. The addition and subtraction of objects is not permitted. If the judges determine that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it.
  • For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must be prepared to provide a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian.
  • Similarly, entrants whose photos depict other people’s work (such as sculptures, statues, paintings, and other copyrightable works) must be prepared to provide a release from the rights holder upon request. When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close-up of another person's creation.
  • If the entrant is unable to provide all required releases, Globe Trotts in its sole discretion reserves the right to disqualify the submission, seek to secure the required releases, or permit the submission to remain in the contest.
  • Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.
  • Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by Globe Trotts in its sole discretion, are ineligible for all categories of this contest.
  • Please submit photographs and requested information online through our website. You may submit up to 2 photographs per category. In order to be displayed in our online gallery without being stretched or distorted, photographs must be submitted in .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format, edited for web in sRGB color space, at least 2,000 pixels wide and no larger than 2 MB.
  • Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.
  • Top 100 must be prepared to submit an original, unedited digital file or an original negative, print or slide. Original negatives, prints or slides shall belong to the Globe Trotts company. Globe Trotts reserves the right to disqualify incomplete entries and/or contestants who are unable to submit, upon request, a high-resolution photograph of at least 300 dpi at 3,000 pixels on the longest side or an original photo negative, print or slide. Mobile photographs are exempt from this size requirement, but must be submitted at their highest resolution upon request.
  • Globe Trotts may collect a photograph’s metadata upon entry.
  • You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant Globe Trotts (and those authorized by Globe Trotts) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of the event and its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Globe Trotts publications. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. Globe Trotts will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

C : Young Artisans:

  • The submission should be coloured picture of the painting and should be of Size less than 2 MB.
  • Size of the Canvas in inches:
    Age group A: 18 x 24
    Age group B: 20 x 24 or 24 x 36
    Age group C: 30 x 40
  • Type of paint: acrylic paint, / oil paint / water color
  • Type of Canvas: Oil painting – Linen or Cotton duck canvas / Acrylic painting – primed canvas / water color painting – water color canvas
  • *** protect your art work as the top 100 selected shall have to submit them by courier.

Judging the Submissions:

  • Globe Trotts will appoint a judge / judges for each contest. This will comprise of members of the Globe Trotts Central team and / or external judges.
  • The judging panel shall assess and determine the entries.
  • The decision of Globe Trotts judging panel will be final and binding on all Participants in respect to all matters relating to the Contest.

Prizes:

  • All the Prizes to the Winners will be as specified.
  • Students participating will need to have a passport which is valid upto 31st Dec 2021.
  • All who are eligible / entitled for takeaways will receive them either during the event or by courier. Any state/ provincial/ territorial, and/or local taxes, fees and surcharges and taxes (whether foreign or domestic, and including income tax) on any prize that may be awarded under the Contest will be solely paid by the recipients.

Intellectual Property Rights:

  • The submissions must not contain any materials owned or controlled by a third party for which you have not obtained a license, must not infringe the copyright, trademark, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
  • The submissions will be the sole property of Globe Trotts and it will own the rights of using it for it’s promotional purpose anytime during the contest or in the future. Upon making the submission, you grant Globe Trotts, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free, sub-licensable right and license to use, publish, reproduce, display, perform, adapt, create derivative works, distribute, have distributed, print, in whole or in part, in any form, in all media forms now or hereafter known, to promote the contest or any other event or activity within the purview of the company or for editorial or educative use.
  • The Student will be credited where ever the submission is used.

Liability:

  • Participants Parent/ Guardian / School/ Anyone else representing the Participant (will be hence forth also be referred to as “You”) hereby hold harmless, release, indemnify and discharge Globe Trotts and its partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers and representatives from all liability, claims, judgments, demands, controversies, agreements, damages, actions and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related in any way to the contest or the conduct of the contest and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded, whether in law or in equity, no matter what the cause or nature, and You further waive any claims that You may state or assert against Globe Trotts in association with the contest or any of its associated activities, or in any way related to or resulting from the contest even if such injury or claims results from or is caused by the negligence or gross negligence of Globe Trotts, in whole or in part, due to human error or otherwise. You further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Globe Trotts from any claim arising out of your participation in the contest including, without limitation, all claims brought or asserted by any third party as a result of any injury or loss that You or they may sustain in any way associated with your participation in the contest.
  •  Under no circumstance will Globe Trotts be liable for any:
    a) lost, late, misdirected, stolen, illegible or incomplete Submissions.
    b) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, submitted Photo(s);
    c) problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, email, players or browsers, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website, or on account of any combination of the foregoing;
    d) incorrect or inaccurate information, caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the Submissions.
    e) Injury or damage to any Participant or to any computer related to, resulting from or in connection with the Contest.
  • Globe Trotts reserve the right to discontinue the Contest or any part thereof at its sole discretion without any obligation to assign any reasons or sending notifications of such discontinuation/cancelation.
  •  If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of being conducted as anticipated, due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Globe Trotts, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest, Globe Trotts reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest as deemed appropriate, disqualify any Participant, and/or select winners from all eligible submission submitted prior to the termination, cancellation, modification or suspension. Globe Trotts reserves the right to correct any typo-graphical, printing, computer programming or operating errors at any time.
  • The Reward/Winnings is in no way transferable and cannot be encashed. In the event of any of the winner(s) not able to travel on the set date / or as per the travel policy set for the entire group of winners, Globe Trotts reserves the rights to decide further course of action and related timelines in this regard. No Claims of any kind will be made or any substitution accepted. The Participants/Parents/Guardian/ Principal or anyone else representing the participant will absolve Globe Trotts of the outcome of any such occurrence. 
  • Since the winners are to be taken abroad as part of their winnings, all the participants will have to ensure that all requirements (Documents or any other as per set Guidelines of Ministry of External Affairs or by the Embassy of the Country (ies) of the Destination, are in accordance and are fully complied with.
  •  Globe Trotts will assist in getting the Visa but will not take accountability of issuance of the same by the respective Embassies.

Other Related Terms and Conditions:

  • All information regarding the contest as well as other criteria’s that form part of the contest are provided on an ‘as is’ basis without warranties of any kind. Globe Trotts make no representations and disclaim all express and implied warranties as to the accuracy of the content, timeliness or completeness of the contest. Globe Trotts do not guarantee any specific benefits from participation in the contest.
  • Under no circumstance shall Globe Trotts be liable to the Schools, Participants or their parents/legal guardians or any other third party for any loss of profits or loss of opportunity, accuracy of the content, benefit from or quality of the contest, purpose of the Contest or any other indirect, special, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages whatsoever, even if they have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • By participating in Contest, the School, Participant and parents/legal guardians of the Participant agree that the Personal Information may be collected on Globe Trotts behalf by others associated with, and/or assisting in organizing and administering of the DSSL and same may be used to send to the School, Participants and parents/legal guardians of the participant, information pertaining to organizer or any information related to Globe Trotts or its associated companies, in the future.
  • The Parents /Legal Guardians will take all necessary permissions from the school before providing/sharing any information about the school as may be required to be part of the contest. Parents hold complete accountability of the correctness of the information provided and any mis-representation or in appropriate information is sole responsibility of the parents and not of Globe Trotts or its associates.
  • The Dates related to the contest will be decided by Globe Trotts and the same shall not be subject to any change at the behest of the school or the parents/legal guardians.
  • This Contest is subject to force majeure circumstances including without limitation, floods, natural disasters, war, act of terror, political unrests, technical snags, act of God or any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Globe Trotts (“Force Majeure Event”). Globe Trotts shall be not liable for any delay or adverse effect caused to the Schools and Participants in the contest including the winners as a result of a Force Majeure Event.

GOVERNING LAW

The Contest, All the Submission(s) and the Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Indian laws. Any aspects or disputes arising out of or in connection with the contest and/or your submission(s) will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the India courts.
